About Egi Canie - Cinematographer

Egi Canie is a Chicago-based cinematographer and colorist known for crafting visually striking, story-driven work.

A graduate of Loyola University Chicago’s Film & Digital Media program, he was awarded Outstanding Film Student (2024), with additional recognition through Chicago Midwest Emmy submissions for his work behind the camera.

Egi has built a strong foundation across feature films and television, serving as a camera operator on multiple productions and as Director of Photography on One Step Closer To Hell (2025). His work as a colorist includes Over The Red River, with additional contributions to Last Tour Home and Timberlands.

With a strong focus on lighting, composition, and visual tone, Egi approaches each project with a commitment to elevating story through image. He is known for his positive, collaborative presence on set and for consistently going above and beyond to deliver high-quality work.
